Which wood should be used for an infrared cabin?
Always prefer domestic woods over imported woods. To protect our forests from pests, imported wood usually has to be treated with pest control chemicals. Naturally, this has no place in the wellness and health sector.
Imported cabins from Asia typically use cedar wood (mostly “Canadian” red cedar or hemlock).
There are very beautiful and well-suited domestic woods. You can therefore choose relatively freely based on your preference. Spruce is the most affordable option for building an infrared cabin. It has little natural scent, making it ideal for aroma therapy applications.
Light woods create a more inviting atmosphere, while dark woods tend to make the space feel smaller. Light wood is also excellent for color light applications, as it reflects the colors. Dark wood “absorbs” the light, making the infrared cabin feel much darker.
